First check with the church or other site where you want to be married. The Christmas season is a busy time for most churches so book early. Hotels and restaurants are also very busy so reserve your reception site well in advance of the big day. Pick one aspect of Christmas and plan your decorations and menu around that. You are not locked into red and green for your color scheme, consider blue and silver and of course white and any of the other Christmas colors would work. A friend’s daughter chose a “Let it Snow” theme. Her color scheme was white and icy blue. Her dress was white and the bridesmaids were blue. Snowflake designs were everywhere including the invitations, programs, dinnerware, place cards and even the cake had snowflake decorations. The favors were crystal snowflakes etched with the bride and groom’s names and the wedding date. I know of a couple that used a gingerbread house them. Even the cake was a fantasy gingerbread house as were the invitations. Other possible themes could be Santa, Christmas trees or the Nativity. Your options are almost endless including the Nightmare Before Christmas. Whatever Christmas theme you choose, it should carry through all aspects of your wedding from the church service to the menu and favors.
