Ask to see samples of the photographer’s work before you put down a deposit.

Ask the photographer if she can provide you with photo greeting cards that you can send as your Christmas cards.

You may want to use the same designs as you have on your invitations.A shot of the two of you framed by a wreath, or standing next to a beautifully decorated tree, would make a lovely Christmas card. Ask your Pastor if you can take pictures in the decorated church, perhaps in front of the manger scene or main altar.

The photographer likely has Christmas backdrops that would be more than suitable for a Christmas wedding photo, such as: fireplaces with stockings hung, Santa. Churches, decorated trees and manger scenes are just a few of the backdrops I have seen used. These pictures can be used for Thank You cards instead of as Greeting cards.

If you want this photo to look extra special, you will want a less busy background. Choose a simple wreath or starry sky which would fill the bill for a beautiful formal portrait.
