Decorating for a Christmas wedding is a task that requires a lot of innovation and thought.
I have myself been a part of such an arrangement during the wedding of my cousin. To be in synch with the season and the festive mood you would need to put in some good concepts and it will be a grand event, I can assure you. Let me share with you the details of my experience. I would never forget the experience and it is something that is truly close to my heart.
Colors are a significant point to consider while decorating for a Christmas wedding. Traditionally green coupled with red is a popular and widely accepted choice. Most places like churches or the venue for reception would already contain decorations using these colors. Hence it is a comparatively low in cost method to choose these colors.
However you can always go for exceptions! Use different colors to demarcate the theme. We had arranged for a walkway for the guests in front of the reception venue that was garlanded with various items signifying Christmas. Use white flower wreaths and decorate the gates with various nice flowers like gerberas or even ivy. We even arranged for a Christmas tree that was nicely decorated. I myself participated in the decoration for the tree so that it looked absolutely fantastic.
Little scented candles were arranged inside the hall and upon the dining tables to make the guests feel the essence of the season. The reception hall being the most important part of the entire ceremony, we took special care to have it decorated with various Christmas related items.
I must tell you that it was a special feeling to be part of the full arrangement and it gave the wedding the tone of a true theme wedding itself. We even arranged for different colored garlands of flowers and small LED electronic arrangements. The entire hall was decorated with them along with the drapes of pink and white. The cake table is a center of attraction and thus we ensured to make it decorated well also.
Little Santa showpieces were selected as wedding favors with the names of the newly wedded couple inscribed upon its base. It indeed gave a touch of nostalgia to each guest who attended the ceremony.
Decorating for a Christmas wedding is not a huge thing that would require hefty expenses. However it is a task that involves innovation and thought and some little effort of creativity to make the arrangements seem truly special.
