How I made Free Printable Wedding Invitations

When my husband and I finally decided on a date to have our wedding, we booked our service and reception at a local hotel.

We were short on funds, so we did everything we could to cut costs. We decided to make our own wedding invitations.

We were only inviting 75 people to our wedding so we figured it would be pretty easy to make them ourselves. We purchased folding paper photo frames. Printed out a great photo that was taken of us on vacation.

You will need a good photo printer for this or take a CD of the photo to a local photo place and have them print the photos for you.

We typed the wedding location, date, time, etc. on our computer and printed the information on the inside of the photo frame. This was very easy to do with a decent printer that will allow for thick paper to feed.

We inserted the photos into the frame as the front of the invitation. The photo could be removed and framed by our guests as a gift. This way we didn't have to purchase small gifts for our guests at the reception as most people typically do. We found envelopes that were large enough for the photo frame invitation.

Printed each persons address on the outside of the envelope and also inserted a smaller return envelope with the response card to be mailed back to us. The invitations looked great and everyone loved them.

The costs was less then half of what it would have cost us to have a professional print them and we got to send our guests a keepsake photo of us.
