How to Get and Print a Wedding Invitation

How to download then process and print free homemade wedding invitations!

How to copy an Invitation Card

Following is the set of instruction aiming to help you handling the wedding invitations available from the website www.homemade-free-unique-wedding-invitations.com.

Click on the selected link to open the picture of your choice in the new window (sometimes you will find note to click on the thumbnail to open the original picture).

Right-click on the picture to open the Image Selection Window: How to get and print free homemade wedding invitation

Note: Get the higher resolution version of this snapshot by left-clicking on the picture.

Select the Save Image As option to store the picture in the chosen folder in your computer, or if you want to use it instantly, select the option Copy. This will save the data (picture) on your clipboard for the next Paste operation.

Please note that clipboard is the Microsoft’s software program that can be used for short-term data storage and/or data transfer between documents or applications, via copy and paste.

The standard Windows key bindings are:

  • Ctrl+C to copy data onto the clipboard
  • Ctrl+X to cut data to the clipboard
  • Ctrl+V to paste data from the clipboard

Personalizing the Invitation Card

If you want to add your personal text on the picture you have few options:

  1. Open the picture in one of the image editing programs like Adobe Photoshop or more user friendly Roxio and add the wanted text and/or graphics.
  2. Import the picture into the Word Document by using traditional copy and paste operation. This option is available to almost everybody, so few more notes about how to proceed farther

Note: Get the higher resolution version of this snapshot by left-clicking on the picture.

  • Right-click on the picture to open the Drawing Selection Window and chose the option - Format Picture.
  • If you want to later print the picture in the specific size fitting the envelope then:

  • select the Size tab and set the required dimensions (for example 7 x 5)
  • Note: Make sure that the option Lock Aspect Ratio is checked to preserve pictures proportions.

If no specific size is required or if you want to use this picture in a larger document then you can simply left-click on the picture

Note: Pictures and clipart objects are surrounded by a solid border and resize handles that appear either as small squares (for pictures in In line with Text wrapping style) or small circles for all “floating” wrapping texts formats ( Square, Tight, In front of Text and Behind Text ).

Note: Get the higher resolution version of this snapshot by left-clicking on the picture.

If you want to write the text over the picture to later print is as a single post-card, then:

    • Right-click on the picture to open the Drawing Selection Window and chose the option Format Picture.
    • Select the Layout tab and then chose the Behind Text wrapping style

This will allow you to write in Word any text over the picture using standard cursors and text editing options (color, font, position etc….).

You can also place on the template any Microsoft’s AutoShape, or your personal picture….

On the left there is an example showing the added text, AutoShapes (here smiley faces) and the “personal photo”). But frankly only “sky is the limit” of what you can do so just make your wish and follow….

Note: You can group graphics (pictures and AutoShapes) into a single entity that is easier to manipulate in relation to other parts of the document.

You can do it by holding down the CTRL key and left-clicking each object. Once all items are selected (small circles handlers visible around the object).

If your text is longer and you are not able to place it on the picture then you can make the card as a folding one writing the text either on the side or below. In this case :

    • Once again right-click on the picture to open the Drawing Selection Window, select option Format Picture and then Layout Tab.
    • According to your needs chose one of the following wrapping styles:

    - In line with text if you want to add text on top or at the bottom of the picture. In this style the picture is considered by Word as a text. That is why you can use the standard text positioning tab “Center” to place the picture in the center of the page.

    - Square or Tight (floating styles) to place the picture in any place in text you want.

I hope that this short presentation helps to painlessly download the free wedding invitation to your computer, than make and print the beautiful postcards ready to send by post office to your family and friends.

If you enjoyed this visit then please share your experience with friends :-)
