Layered Wedding Invitations

About Layered Wedding Invites

One type of invitation that is growing in popularity is layered wedding invitations.

This technique uses standard card stock as a base and then specialty papers are adhered to the base.

Often the card stock is printed with a background design such as leaves or snowflakes and the wording is printed on vellum, rice paper or other transparent paper.

Sometimes embossed foil is used as the design element and is layered on cardstock in a coordinating color.

You will need a template which you can download for free here at www.2Ninvite.com. Trim each layer that you plan on using a little smaller than the previous one so that the different colors or layers are showing.

Scrapbooking departments or stores are an excellent source of the kind of papers and glue that you will need to make custom layered wedding invitations.

Making your own layered invitations involves extra work, but is well worth the effort and you will love the results.
